Pregnancy Exercise at She Moves

Did you know at She Moves we offer four new pregnancy classes each week?

We know that every pregnancy is different and we know that fitness levels vary person to person - some come into pregnancy with very little fitness and just want to get started others have an excellent base level of fitness and want to continue to challenge themselves.

We also understand the complications that can at times present themselves during pregnancy such as pelvic pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, morning sickness and fatigue just to name a few. This is why we offer so much variety in this space so there is something appropriate for every pregnant Mum.

Each of our pregnancy safe classes are delivered by a qualified personal trainer who has done specialised prenatal certifications. Below you can read about all the She Moves pregnancy options and who they might be suitable for.

Before participating in any exercise programme please ensure you have medical clearance to participate from your GP or Midwife.

She Starts - Beginner Workout

This class is designed for the very beginner, if you’ve not exercised before but want to get started in your pregnancy this is the perfect class for you. It’s a fantastic option for those who are suffering from serious fatigue and or morning sickness.

No getting up and down off the floor, no jumping or load onto the pelvic floor and loads of exercises are done sitting down. We know how overwhelming it can feel when you are just starting your fitness journey - add in pregnancy and it can feel even more full on.  This class aims to leave you feeling like exercise is achievable and fun. Monday 10am or anytime on demand. 

She Grows - Low Impact Strength

This gentle low impact strength workout will help you to build strength, ease aches, and get you strong for birth / postpartum recovery. Modifications are provided for those with pelvic girdle pain and an excellent option for those who are struggling with fatigue and nausea. Heart rate is kept relatively low and we won’t push you too hard. A great option to step into in those last weeks of pregnancy if you’re struggling to keep going. This class also has focus on pelvic floor relaxation stretches. Friday 9.30am or anytime on demand.

She Lengthens - Pregnancy Pilates

Get ready to feel the burn and build some serious strength. A more challenging low impact class that focuses on building strength, improving posture, stabilizing and elongating the spine, maintaining balance and working on deep core connection. Friday 6.10am or anytime on demand.

She Flows - Stretch

Lengthen out sore muscles, increase flexibility and move into calm. This 30 minute recovery session is all about slowing down and stretching out with a combination of slow flows and longer holds to release tension in the body. Ideal for those pregnancy aches and pains and well as helping to relax tight muscles including the pelvic floor and prepare for birth. A must do class for all pregnant Mums. Sunday 7.00pm or anytime on demand.

She Lifts - Weights

A challenging 20 minute weights session with pregnancy modifications to keep you safe. We use basic equipment to tone and strengthen your whole body! This is perfect for those that have a good base level of fitness and want to continue to work hard with appropriate modifications. No equipment? No worries! Whilst the trainer may use Dumbbells and Kettlebells if you don’t have any, that's okay! Just use cans of food or milk bottles filled up! Monday 6.10am or anytime on demand.
