Empowering Fitness Journeys: Dannyelle Doidge’s Triumph with She Moves!
Meet She Moves member Dannyelle Doidge, a real-life She Moves superstar. Back in August 2022, juggling family and fitness felt impossible. But inspired by her husband's progress, she decided to give it a shot. She stumbled upon She Moves – a game-changer that made fitness finally click.
Starting from scratch was tough, but She Moves made it simple. Beyond her initial motivation as a mum, she fell in love with the energy and stress relief! Dannyelles’ journey proves that starting small but keeping committed leads to big wins!
When did your journey back into exercise begin? What gave you the push to get started again?
I think it was around August 2022, I was wanting to join the gym and do something for myself but with the size of our family and the ages of our children, it was quickly put in the too-hard basket. I knew there had to be a way of moving from home so I began looking on YouTube and other online options but nothing seemed to "fit" and I found myself dreading working out! The push for me was seeing how much exercise was changing my husband and how energetic, motivated and dedicated he was - I wanted the same for me!
How did it feel starting from ground zero with your fitness?
At first, I was so overwhelmed and found it so daunting! But, after finding She Moves it took away the confusion and made it SO easy. I started with the She Moves workout ‘She Restores - Pelvic Floor & Core Restore’. This was such an amazing starting point! It didn't leave me feeling like I was not doing enough or wasn't strong enough etc. I felt successful! I always felt accomplished and empowered and that feeling was the driving force for me to continue.
What has been your number one driver to stick at it and develop exercise into a habit?
At first, I would have said to my children, that I was doing it for them and maybe that’s why previously I could never establish a routine and stick to it. Don't get me wrong in a way it is for my children but the biggest driver for me is, the benefits of moving, feeling energetic and less stressed and knowing it is one part of self-care that I choose to achieve!
Where are you at with your exercise now, how are you feeling? What goals have you got for the next few months?
I was doing really well and working out most days and had favourite workouts and feeling on top of the world and then life got turned upside down and without going into detail I just didn’t have the time nor the energy or motivation to get back into it. I needed a push! So I got a 1 on 1 package as daunting as that was I knew it was what I needed! I needed to have someone there in the background holding me accountable. It made a world of difference!
Now I do three workouts a week with a walk on my rest days and use family time to move in other ways. My amazing She Moves trainer has even got me doing an extra set at the end of my She Lifts workout to make my goal of running a possibility!
The goal is to get into running. I use to love running when I was younger and still do now but my body was not enjoying it, I can’t wait to be able to run 5k and then one day if I'm brave enough I'd love to do a marathon. Big goals and working hard to achieve them one workout at a time!
How has She Moves helped you get back into exercise?
Without She Moves I would probably still be searching YouTube workouts and feeling disheartened with my exercise.
What's one piece of advice you have for a mum who knows they need to get started but can't seem to get going what would it be?
Start small, and feel proud after each workout! Take one step at a time at your own pace and be your biggest fan!
